Speaker: Tim Strasser
This session will explore together with other practitioners, evaluators and academics how the distributed and highly diverse movement of community-led sustainability initiatives (that ECOLISE is seeking to steward, enable, and catalyse) can tell better stories of the collective impacts they can potentially have and are already making. That is in order to build stronger recognition among mainstream policy, academia, and civil society of the role communities have to play in bringing about more desirable, thriving, and just futures. But also to mirror back to the movement what impacts they are or could be having and what might be blocking their transformative potential. A review of existing research and impact evaluations will be used as a conversation starter for this session, in order to explore how to better measure and narrate the existing and potential impacts of community-led initiatives, and what might be needed to do that.
